PISCES

And so, back to Pisces. There is no need to repeat where Pisces athletes win their medals. There is one further little twist in the Pisces’ tails.

It has already been commented in the Taurus section that Pisces swimmers are no better than average in Butterfly competitions. This made me think that it may not be swimming ability as much as the ability to move like a fish that contributes to the Pisces effect.

To test this, I looked for a different group of competitions where athletes have to move like fish. I found it in the Alpine Skiing discipline. Skiers who do slaloms where the poles are close together have to weave in and out and, at least in my opinion, resemble the movement of a fish when doing so http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twifzPbN_SA.

If Pisces athletes did perform significantly better in these slalom competitions, then my suspicion would have some evidence to back it up.

Here is the men’s chart that includes these competitions.

All Men’s Combined, Moguls, Slalom and Giant Slalom Alpine Skiing Competitions

Pisces is significant at the 1 in 2,500 level.

Unfortunately for my idea, the women’s competitions show an almost reverse order!

However, no sign is significantly better or worse than the other signs so the reverse order may not mean anything. Nonetheless, Pisces women should have scored higher than they did for my idea to hold up. Perhaps Pisces women athletes aren’t as adaptable to a different medium.
